2016 Women’s Caucus Call for Papers
Breaking New Ground: Moving Feminist Scholarship Forward
The Women’s Caucus of AAR/SBL is currently accepting proposals for our sessions at the American Academy of Religion and Society of Biblical Literature 2016 Annual Conference. The Conference is being held in San Antonio, Texas from November 19-22, 2016. We invite members to submit abstracts for consideration for our sessions. We are accepting abstracts for panel, presentations, and roundtable sessions. In addition, we encourage all members to also submit individual poster and/or presentation submissions to the conference.
The field of Gender and Religion continues to expand in new and exciting directions, the 2016 Women’s Caucus will be focusing on the feminist principles we embody in our scholarship and our lives as we do this important work. In addition to the sessions below, the 2016 Women’s Caucus will continue its work to preserve the archives of this historic organization, as well as support efforts to film and record leading figureheads of feminist theologies. Each of the following Women’s Caucus sessions will be convened by one of the Women’s Caucus co-chairs, either Elizabeth Ursic or Marcelle Williams, and at least one other member from the Women’s Caucus leadership team.
Proposals should be submitted as a word attachment to the Women’s Caucus at aar.sbl.womens.caucus[at]gmail.com. The submission deadline is February 16, 2016 at midnight (PST). If you are not selected, please submit your paper to the conference independently.
