Off the Press: November 2019
“Off the Press” is an FSR series that highlights the exciting news and accomplishments of our FSR Board membership that they wish to be shared with the wider community.
Shelly Matthews (Books) has just published an article entitled “The Lynching Tree and the Cross: James Cone, Historical Narrative, and the Ideology of Just Crucifixion (Lk 23:41)” in The Narrative Self in Early Christianity, published by SBL. In October, Matthews taught a course entitled The Acts of the Apostles: A Feminist Intersectional Approach, at the Theologisches Studienjahr Jerusalem, Jerusalem School of Theology, Dormition Abbey, Mount Zion.
Several current and former JFSR board members–e.g. Kate Ott (JFSR/Books) K. Christine Pae (FSR), Emilie M. Townes (former JFSR)–are featured in the Yale Divinity School’s Reflections magazine on women’s history at YDS.
N.B. If you are an FSR Board member and want something to be shared in a future “Off the Press” announcement, please contact the JFSR submissions editor, Lauren D. Sawyer ([email protected]).
