Off the Press: October 2019
“Off the Press” is an FSR series that highlights the exciting news and accomplishments of our FSR Board membership that they wish to be shared with the wider community.
In early October, Sylvia Marcos (International JFSR) delivered a keynote, “Subversive Spirituality, Political Contributions of Ancestral Cosmologies,” at Encuentro Internacional TEPALI to a group of feminist theologians, feminist leaders from several Latin American countries, and women pastors representing various Christian denominations and traditions. The debates, workshops, and presentations of the conference focused on the crucial importance of feminist theologies facing the rising religious fundamentalisms in the area.
Kate M. Ott (JFSR/Books) has recently published an article with Religions: “Taking Children’s Moral Lives Seriously: Creativity as Ethical Response Offline and Online.”
Sharon A. Suh’s (JFSR) memoir, Occupy This Body: A Buddhist Memoir, was just released with Sumeru Press.
N.B. If you are an FSR Board member and want something to be shared in a future “Off the Press” announcement, please contact the JFSR submissions editor, Lauren D. Sawyer ([email protected]).
