Announcing Electronic Submissions and Review
Over the course of more than 25 years, the Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion has seen many changes in how they manage the publication and dissemination of content. With the advent of this new website, JFSR is happy to announce electronic submissions and article reviews.
In the earliest days of publishing the Journal, the proces of article submission and review only happened through postal mail or by phone. In fact, a stack of preprinted postcards sent to acknowledge receipt of submissions to JFSR remains in the office. There is also a small wooden box of yellowed index cards with the names, phone numbers, and addresses of reviewers written in fading ink. Over the last decade, JFSR moved to electronic communications with authors and reviewers while still requiring the submission of hard copies and digital submission of articles for review.
We are happy to be moving to electronic submission of articles for review. To submit an article for consideration, an author will simply need to follow the instructions on the Submissions page of the website. After agreeing to review an article, reviewers will be emailed instructions on how to access the article online. (Upon request, the submissions editor will continue to send paper copies to reviewers who prefer this medium.) Of course, the entire process will maintain the same high standards for a blind, peer-reviewed process.
Although the technology of article submissions and reviews may have changed, JFSR recognizes that it has always relied upon the generousity of our reviewers to lend their time and expertise in evaluating articles. So also does JFSR depend upon the ongoing stream of submissions of excellent scholarship in the field of feminist studies in religion. We hope that this new system of submission and review will further enhance the content of the Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion.
