While the conference staff are unable to assist Conference attendees in finding alternative lodging, there may be faculty, students and/or staff at Drew University who are willing to host attendees in their homes. If you are interested, please email the Conference Co-ordinator at [email protected] and put Alternative Housing in the subject line. You will then be given access to a Google document where you can provide contact information and make your own arrangements. The Conference is not responsible for the details of any such arrangements that attendees make.

TRANSPORTATION

The Conference will have several students who will be providing transportation assistance to and from the Madison, New Jersey train station. If you would prefer to arrange your own transportation, information is provided below. Please note that we are unable to provide transportation assistance to or from any of the airports in the area, unless you are an international registrant.

If you are interested in ride-sharing to and from an airport, we have prepared a Ride Share document in which you can put your contact information and flight information to see who might have similar arrival and departure times. This way you might be able to make arrangements with others to share a ride.

If you will require transportation from or to the Madison, NJ train station, please let us know your flight information so that we may plan adequately.

By Plane

Newark Liberty International Airport is the closest terminal to the Drew campus. A taxi from the airport is estimated at $50. If you are driving by car from the airport, follow signs to I-78 West to Route 24 West. Stay in the far right lane to exit 7A – Chatham/Route 124 West. Follow Route 124 West through Chatham (Main Street) into Madison (Madison Avenue). Drew is located on Route 124 (Madison Avenue), on your left, just past the center of Madison.

By Train from Newark Airport

You will take the Newark Airport Shuttle to the Newark Airport Train Station. From there you will take either a New Jersey Transit Northeast Corridor Train or a North Jersey Coast Train. From either of these lines you will exit at Secaucus Junction. The duration of the train ride varies depending on long you need to wait for a train at Secaucus Junction. You will then take a Morris-Essex Train. Exit at the Madison Station and walk through the tunnel underneath the rails to reach the main entryway.

If you have arranged for us to pick you up from the train station we will meet you near the front entrance to the train station. If you plan to walk (15-20 minutes, mostly uphill), follow the walking directions to the Drew Campus, as noted below.

For more information about the trains visit: NJ Transit.

By Train from New York City

From Penn Station (at 34th Street and 7th Avenue) take a New Jersey Transit train on the Morris-Essex line. On a train headed to Dover, get off at the Madison stop. Follow the directions from the train station to the Drew campus as noted below.

From the Madison Train Station to the Drew Campus

If you plan to walk (15-20 minutes, mostly uphill), once you have crossed beneath the rail lines, go right on Kings Road for two and a half blocks where it joins Madison Avenue. Follow the sidewalk up Madison Avenue passed Grace Episcopal Church and Madison Methodist Church (on left). The campus is on your left. There are three entrances to campus. Walk to the second entrance through the arched gateway. Directly ahead of you will be Mead Hall, a large brick building with white columns. Walk up to the front of Mead Hall then take the path to the right; then bear right at the fork and Seminary Hall will be the large building on your left.

By Car (from various locations):

From Interstate 287, take exit 35. At the end of the exit ramp, follow signs for Route 124 east (Madison Avenue). Travel three miles and turn right at the Lancaster Road traffic light onto the Drew University campus.

From Northwest New Jersey via Interstate 80 east, take exit 43 (Interstate 287 south, Morristown). Proceed from Interstate 287.

From Northern New Jersey and New York City (George Washington Bridge) via Interstate 80 west, take exit 43A (Interstate 287 south, Morristown), staying to the right in the local lanes. Proceed from Interstate 287.
