| Primary Purpose |
The Director of the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is responsible for developing University and community partnerships to strengthen Pacific’s programs that raise awareness and creates opportunities for learning about self, interpersonal relationships, and political, and social issues relevant to women. The Director will be responsible for maintaining close contact with admission applicants, students, alumni, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members interested in women’s issues and women’s potential. The Director will champion student-led initiatives around issues of gender, expression of gender identity, intercultural competence, intersection of identities, and activism. This position will serve as a bridge between the existing strong programs dedicated to women’s and gender issues on campus through the Gender Studies Program in the College of the Pacific and the Division of Student Life. The job responsibilities anticipate a half-time commitment to Student Life, maintaining office hours in the WRC located in the Multicultural Center, as well as a half-time commitment to the Gender Studies Program.

| Essential Functions |
1. Provides direct professional oversight for Pacific’s Women’s Resource Center (WRC) and serves as a Leadership Team member of the Multicultural Center (MC), home of the Pride Resource Center, African, Latin@, Asian Pacific Islander, Native American (ALANA) Center, and Women’s Resource Center. 2. Contributes to the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of Multicultural Center student staff and interns, with emphasis on WRC staff and interns. 3. Creates, coordinates, and oversees internships and experiential learning opportunities that encourage student involvement in the community related to women’s issues. 4. Teaches or co-teaches one Gender Studies course per academic year. 5. Develops, coordinates, and implements programs related to women’s leadership and mentorship, training related to sexual assault awareness/harassment, and featured events during cultural heritage, history, and wellness awareness weeks/months. 6. Identifies and writes grants to support programmatic efforts. 7. Builds a network of alumni interested in women’s and gender issues – alumni who are leaders in their fields and who are available to mentor, work, and/or speak with students. 8. Forges partnerships with local and regional Women’s Centers and women’s policy groups including the Women’s Center-Youth & Family Services (YFS). 9. Works with the Student Victim Advocate, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Pacific Health Services to broaden the scope of the WRC as a safe space and referral center. 10. Assists where opportunity arises in recruiting students, particularly women, into traditionally underrepresented fields, e.g., STEM. 11. Develops a strong web presence for women’s initiatives, the GHES Commons, and the WRC. 12. Builds relationship and programs serving all three University of the Pacific campuses, seven Schools, and the College of the Pacific. 13. Serves as a member of the university-wide committees and boards such as Gender Studies Board, Title IX Committee, Bias Response Team Committee Extended Member, and University Diversity Committee. 14. Performs other related duties as assigned and requested.

| Qualifications |
Education/Experience/Certifications: Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Student Personnel, Student Development, Educational Administration or closely related field required; doctorate preferred. A minimum of 4 years professional working experience in a college or university setting with demonstrated skills in promoting women’s issues, diversity, inclusion, and social justice are essential. Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge and Expertise: • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of women’s social justice issues, movements and sensitivity to the needs of university students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and mediation skills. • Ability to plan, and implement, social, educational, and advocacy programs. • Ability to develop programmatic partnerships with academic and administrative departments, student organizations, and community groups. • Demonstrated successful experience with grant writing and fund development. • Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management. • Communication skills to express ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Writing skills to simplify complex information and clarify subject matter for specified groups. • Working knowledge of promotional and marketing strategies. • Analytical skills to evaluate program requirements, information or problems in an objective manner and provide logical conclusions. • Interpersonal skills and political acumen to interact effectively with individuals of varying ages, cultural backgrounds, and perspectives, including administrators, faculty and staff. • Intercultural competence to work effectively across diverse backgrounds, multiple identities, and complex community issues. • Demonstrated experience in staff selection, training, supervision, and evaluation. • Proficient computer skills and working knowledge using software applications. • Positive attitude and proven ability to build rapport and trust with diverse clients and constituents.

| Physical Requirements |
Duties require constant sitting and repetitive motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Frequent walking, standing and simple grasping. Occasional climbing stairs, walking across campus, stooping and reaching. Frequent communication using both spoken and written means. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
