Remembering Rita Gross

It is with a heavy heart that we at FSR announce the recent passing of Rita Gross, a prominent Buddhist feminist scholar and longtime supporter and board member of JFSR.

Rita chaired the Women and Religion Section of the AAR for many years from the mid-1970s to the late ’80s and was the author of many books, among them Feminism and Religion and Buddhism After Patriarchy.

Her passing is a great loss to us all. Let her legacy continue on in our feminist work and our commitment to global interreligious dialogue.
