Abortion & Religion Project: Research Assistant Needed
The Abortion & Religion Project is seeking an individual to serve as a Research Assistant.
Conducted by a five-person research team, the Abortion & Religion project seeks to interview 500 Jewish, Christian, and Muslim women across the US with the primary goal of documenting the stories/experiences of religious women who have abortions. Primary responsibility for the research assistant is to code interviews. This contract position begins immediately and will require the coding of approximately 100 interviews (30-45 min. each) by the end of May (June negotiable).
Initial contract is for $4000, with the possibility of a renewed contract for subsequent interviews. Applicants must have completed Ph.D. coursework in religious studies (preference for ethics, theology, and/or social scientific study of religion) and preferably have graduate level experience coding interviews. RA will be trained on Dedoose software for coding and will meet regularly with members of the research team.
