The Religion Department at Claremont Graduate University invites applications for the Dr. Margo L. Goldsmith Professorship in Women’s Studies in Religion. The successful candidate must have expertise in early Christianity, with an eye toward broader implications for women’s experiences in antiquity, western civilization, and modern society. Rank is open, though strong priority will be given to candidates with a well-established academic track record. Applicants must have publications appropriate to rank and demonstrate an ongoing research program that forges new directions in the study of women, gender, sexuality, and religion. The Goldsmith Professor directs the department’s renowned program in Women’s Studies in Religion as well as contributing to the department’s other graduate programs. Applicants must have a PhD in religious studies or a related field. The appointment is scheduled to commence in Fall 2017.
