Off the Press: April 2019

“Off the Press” is an FSR series that highlights the exciting news and accomplishments of our FSR Board membership that they wish to be shared with the wider community.

• Megan Goodwin (EFSR) published “Unpacking the Bunker: Sex, Abuse, and Apocalypticism in ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’” CrossCurrents (2019) and was interviewed for podcast on the “Challenges and Responsibilities for the Public Scholar of Religion” (The Religious Studies Project).
• Kathleen Gallagher Elkins’s (JFSR) book Mary, Mother of Martyrs: How Motherhood Became Self-Sacrifice in Early Christianity (FSR Press) was reviewed by Mary E. Hunt (former EFSR) in “Women are fully human agents of social, political change” (National Catholic Report).
