Candidate will be expected to teach a wide range of both introductory and upper-level courses in the Religion program, and will also be expected to regularly teach core courses in the General Education program. Service will include, among other duties, committee work, program assessment, and curricular development, as well as student advising and mentoring. Area of specialization is open, but we would especially welcome a candidate whose research and teaching interests both complement and extend our growing program offerings, particularly in the areas of world religions, religion and culture, and gender and religion. Our department is firmly grounded in the liberal arts tradition, and emphasizes critical dialogue, the use of primary texts, and the value of interdisciplinary studies, all encompassed within our mission of cultivating an inclusive community and awakening in our students the transformative power of learning. Ph.D. in Religion, Religious Studies, or related field at time of appointment required, as well as demonstrated excellence in teaching, evidence of scholarly potential, and a clear commitment to university service.
