The Department of Religion at Columbia University invites applications for an open rank appointment in religion and sexuality. The position can be filed at any rank from tenure-track assistant professor to tenured full professor. Candidates with a strong record of teaching and/or scholarship in LGBTQ/queer studies are particularly encouraged to apply. Specialization, period, and discipline are open and may include historically informed, comparative, and globally engaged approaches to the study of religion. Beyond teaching in the field of specialization, the successful candidate at the junior level will be expected to teach two courses a year in Columbia’s Core Curriculum.
