Special Series: Feminism, Religion, and New Social Media

Feminist Studies in Religion Forum is joining with the Feminism and Religion blog for a joint conversation. Four papers were presented in Chicago at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Religion, November 17, 2012, in a session entitled “Feminism, Religion and Social Media: Expanding Borders in the Twenty-First Century,” organized by Gina Messina-Dysert and chaired by Rosemary Radford Ruether with Mary E. Hunt as the respondent. Paper authors include Kate Ott, the FIR editor along with three other writers from the FAR blog – Gina Messina-Dysert, Xochitl Alvizo, Sara Frykenberg. We are contributed revised blog format versions of our papers to spark a wider conversation.
We will publish two of the FAR contributors blogs and papers as well as Mary Hunt’s response to the entire panel and individual paper responses. Join the conversation here and on FAR.
